Feminism was important in the 1960s because the women’s were being discriminated. They were treated bad and were disliked because they were just meant for house wifes. In the 1960s there was feminists that inspired political action and changed woman lives. There was several books that was about feminists in the 1960s. There was feminists that protested in the streets an at the rallies. There was a lot of opportunities that were practically endless. There was differ groups of feminists that stood up for themselves and for them to become important. There was activists that gathered feminists to go to Washington and give a speech and start a new organization work for womens equality. Everyone needs to have rights and equal rights. For example, they had limitations to respect and in the workplace. They also restrictions that they need to follow and there was no other choice for them. For example, they had to be housewives and also take care of their children. During that time they didn't a lot from life. They had few rules that need to follow and what needed to be done for the day. In other words it was like a daily routine for them. Feminism was not being treated how they were supposed to be treated instead they were slaves and house wifes.

The movement was focused on dismantling workplace inequality. They had denial of access to better jobs and salary inequality. In the year, 1964 a representative proposed to add a prohibition on gender discrimination into the Civil Rights Act that was under consideration. The law was passed with the amendment intact. There was decades earlier that had pushed for women’s suffrage. They were culminating with the passage of the 19th amendment that gave women to vote in 1920. In 1966 National Organization for Women was launched and assist women seeking legal aid as they battled workplace discrimination in the courthouse

It has been an ongoing battle for more than 100 years. Marriages were arranged and spouse had to be obedient to their husbands. They were expected to be nothing more, but to take care of children and be housewives. What took a big impact to that century was the 19th amendment , it gave women the right to vote and was ratified in the 1920s. During World War II, over six million women took an active part in the work force.  For example, they filled up  working in farms and in factories. There was over than three million workers working for Red Cross and, more than 2 million serving in the military. When the war finished there was women that were laid off from the positions they had during the war. 

The Women's Liberation Movement was trying to accomplish reforms of issues such as productive rights, domestic violence, maternity leave, equal pay,womens suffrage,sexual harassment,  and sexual violence. It was the inability to obtain employment and achieve equality. It varied among nations and community. they were involved in suffrage and political equality. It attempted in further combat social and cultural inequalities. Feminism in china started during the Chinese revolution. In China, feminism has a strong association with socialism and class issues. feminism was divided into three waves by feminist scholars. The Women's movement became more popular in May 1968 when women began to read again. 

There was a group that met in Seneca Falls in the year 1848. The organizer of the convention was Elizabeth Cady Stanton. She was an American suffragist, social activist, abolitionist, and leading figure of the early women's rights movement. She was born on November 12, 1815 in Johnstown, NY. Elizabeth became involved in the abolitionist movement after a progressive upbringing. She helped organize the world's first women's right convention in 1848. She also formed the National Women's Loyal League.  Elizabeth there herself into the political drama of the civil war. She also diverged from the mainstream women's movement over religion. 

Now feminism has totally changed in a way that promotes good vibes of being individual brave women's. As the government embraces rights to protect all women it has shown respected actions towards the cause. Us women just had to be given an opportunity to respond to societies assumptions. As in todays statistic's have shown we've increase in the number of degrees in pursing higher education. Women from this country find theirselves more outspoken then ever before. They are also well educated to defend any negative comments and have the right to protest what they seem to think is wrong.
